Be the first one to test My Simple Framework’s beta version!
My Simple Framework – a simple yet powerful XHTML/CSS framework – enters beta stage! Be one of the first to grab your own FREE version and enjoy the speed of this new versatile framework.
My Simple Framework Features Overview
My Simple Framework (MSF) is a versatile XHTML/CSS + HTML5/CSS framework. It is meant to drastically reduce the time you spend building your CSS stylesheets and to improve your overall web development workflow.
It features:
- A powerful browser CSS reset.
- 5 different ems typography stylesheets set to a baseline grid (from 18px to 22px).
- More than 1600 pure CSS layouts out-of-the-box which can be edited in the blink of an eye.
- Sensible and consistent default values for more than 75 (X)HTML tags and classes.
- A hybrid HTML5-ready hierarchy so that your site will evolve gracefully in the years to come.
- A standard compliant, valid XHTML 1.0 DTD code.
- Many comments for a better understanding of the code and easier editing.
- An IE dedicated stylesheet which takes care of most IE rendering issues.
- A stylesheet for printing + An advanced debug stylesheet.
- Styles for images, forms, and other elements (“elements.css”)
- A list of tips and useful snippets.
It is not:
- Grid based. Because a simple, flexible layout is better than a rigid one.
- Pixel perfect for every browsers. Because a robust “almost pixel perfect design” is way better than a frail pixel perfect one.
- Always what you need. MSF is meant to help you but won’t solve all your problems.
- For those who don’t know a thing about (X)HTML/CSS.
- The final release. It’s only a beta version right now.
Grab you own version!
As many of you already know, I love to give not only advice and tips, but freebies too. Therefore, MSF is free, and will remain free forever.

Unlike many frameworks, you’ll be able to use MSF after only 1 or 2 hours. Oh! And if you want to see before you try, here is a demo (no typography in the demo because there are to many styles) showing many available layouts xD
MSF can build 1600 layout with a mere copy-paste! You won’t believe me if I tell you how fast it is… so try and see with your own eyes.
What now?
MSF is a work in progress. Just grab the RSS and you’ll know whenever there is an update or when I write a new post. You can also download my FREE .psd 960px grid template.
If you like My Simple Framework, please share on twitter and consider donating. The more people we are to support MSF, the better it will be.
So, what do you think of MSF? What would you change or improve? Do you have any question or comment?

Hi!
If you have any question, I’ll make sure to answer Monday. I’m going to a silence-prayer-retreat thing with some friends and I can’t decently bring my laptop there.
I hope I can upload the demo before I leave :)
Cheers and have fun! Yes, yes, web design is FUN!

Well, this review will depend on how usefull this framwork is :) but in my opinion every framework, that gives me a possibility to win at least 10 seconds from every hour is a useful one ;)
